Academic Works is a digital repository of the scholarly and creative works of Graduate Center faculty, students, and research centers. The Graduate Center Library administers this open access repository to preserve, showcase, and facilitate access to these works, which include articles, dissertations, and much more.
Want to contribute to Academic Works? We welcome current members of the Graduate Center faculty and the CUNY doctoral faculty to self-submit their works. (We’re doing a phased launch and will start accepting student self-submissions soon.) We recommend reading the Author FAQ first.
Why contribute to Academic Works? See our About page to learn more about institutional repositories and the benefits of making your works open access.
How do I submit my dissertation, thesis, or capstone project? Students do not submit these works directly to Academic Works. Rather, they deposit according to Graduate Center Library procedures, and the library uploads batches to the repository shortly after each degree conferral date. The full text of each dissertation, thesis, or capstone project becomes available either immediately upon upload or after a delay, depending on the author’s embargo preference.
